I looked on the other top boorus and this seems to be a bug that boorus running "gelbooru beta 0.1.11" seem to have. rule34xxx and furrybooru don't seem to have this issue, but they're running gelbooru beta 0.2.

The freeboorus don't currently support gelbooru beta 0.2, so I think we'll just have to deal with it for the moment.

Ok, it's not the end of the world.
