I think that anon meant that he blieves that there wasn't a statue first, then people actually went there to look for it which gave him the idea to put an actual statue in Oregon.

They hate him because he hyped up the show to be something spectacular and could not deliver. He has a real work ethic problem and a massive ego. Season two was shoddily thrown together and just felt rushed and unplanned.
